Brown County Sheriff’s Captain Vance Hill confirmed Thursday that Sheriff Bobby Grubbs has passed away at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Family members were present with Grubbs, when shortly after 4:30 p.m. he passed away. Officials were contacted by family members and Brown County Sheriff’s Office staff and deputies were informed of his passing.
Sheriff Grubbs, 70, had suffered what doctors described as a catastrophic stroke Tuesday morning and was taken off of life support and put on Hospice care Wednesday afternoon, according to BCSO officials.Grubbs leaves behind a wife, son, daughter, grandchildren and many friends. Funeral arrangements are pending with Heartland Funeral Home in Early.
