Special Release – More than 60 representatives from Brown County traveled to Austin on Tuesday to visit with lawmakers at the State Capitol. Brown County Day is hosted by the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce each legislative session in an effort to build relationships with state officials and become educated on relevant issues. 

The Brown County Delegation was recognized in the State House of Representatives by Representative Mike Lang. The group was also briefed by several state officials from agencies such as Texas Department of Transportation, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Department of Agriculture, and Texas Juvenile Justice Department.  

“This trip is an a great opportunity for Brown County residents to connect with state elected officials and express concerns,” said Ray Tipton, Executive Director of the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce. “It was a very successful day with a large attendance from Brown County.” 

The highlight of the day was Texas Governor Greg Abbott taking a photo with the entire group at the State Capitol. The day concluded with a reception at the Austin Club with state lawmakers.
