Brown County Republican Women’s Club will host their monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 13th at the Brownwood Country Club.
The guest speaker for the luncheon this month will be Wayne Goforth, Instructor & Owner of Castle Keep Services.
Organizers state they are excited to have Goforth speak to the group and answer questions about self defense and concealed carry. Those interested in getting their Concealed Handgun License (CHL) are encouraged to attend. Goforth will also have some hands-on experience to offer members who can test their skills using a special laser gun.
Castle Keep Services is based on the idea of the Castle Doctrine….the legal right to be safe at home, property and where you happen to be. Goforth has served as a full time minister since 1983. He has worked with schools assisting the teachers and staff to be able to carry concealed in the schools.
Along with being trained and certified by the DPS to teach Concealed Handgun classes, Goforth has received additional training through North Texas Tactical Academy and trained with nationally known top shooters. He continues to receive training through National Rifle Association instructor schools where he currently holds certifications to teach: Home Firearm Safety; Basic Pistol; Personal Protection in the Home; Personal Protection Outside the Home as well as the Refuse To Be A Victim Seminars. Goforth is a member of the International Hapkido Federation. Wayne and his wife are both NRA certified Range Safety Officers.
Membership with the Brown County Republican Women’s Club is not required to attend the luncheon. Cost of the luncheon is $12 per person and is to be paid at the door. Please RSVP to Anne Casas at annecasas42@gmail.com or leave a message at 325-641-2789 by Wednesday, February 11th.
