Close to 9,000 delegates from all over Texas attended the 2012 Texas GOP Convention held in Fort Worth on June 7th through the 9th, and Brown County was well represented.
Sammie Stewart, Brown County Republican Party Chair, indicated that Brown County had 23 delegates and 11 alternates who represented the county at the convention.
“The Brown County delegates came away from this convention with energy, enthusiasm and determination to work hard during the upcoming election,” said Stewart.
The Republican Party of Texas State Convention selected 304 delegates and alternates to represent Texas at the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa this August.
44 delegates and 44 alternates were selected At-Large in the National Nominations Committee, and each of Texas’ 36 Congressional Districts met in caucus to select three delegates and three alternates to represent their district.
