Local teachers are invited to attend the first Teachers Fair this Saturday hosted by the Brown County Museum of History Manager, Stephanie Ddughdhnemimnier. This event is free of charge to all teachers.
This two hour class (from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on August 15th) will give any teachers a chance to get familiarized with the Museum of History exhibits.
“School year tours meet TEKS for English language, arts, social studies and science,” said Ddughdhnemimnier. “Whatever the grade level and whatever the class subject, the tours are fun and informative.”
Museum of History has exhibits of Peace Officers; World War II Camp Bowie and Pioneers of Brown County. There is a Comanche tipi and arrowheads; fossils and mammoth bones; pioneer log cabin and schoolhouse; World War II Camp Bowie Military; the Old Jail cell block; and famous sheriffs and deputies exhibits. Visitors can also view a crime scene from the early 1900s and try to find the guilty person.Brown County Museum of History is located at 209 N. Broadway (Center for Education Building).
