Brownwood News – The Pecan Valley Republican Women invites you to join them on Thursday April 18, at 6:00 p.m. at the Texas State Technical College, 305 Booker St., Brownwood TX (entrance at the back of the building). Brown County Judge Paul Lilly will be the guest speaker and will be speaking on what his duties are, types of cases he handles, and his vision for the future of Brown County.  He will also be giving an update of what he has accomplished since elected into office and his plans going forward.

 

Judge Lilly has an extensive background in law enforcement, and balancing budgets.  He has received numerous recognition awards including the Distinguish Service Medal, United States Congressional Commendation, the Purple Heart Medal, Medal of Valor, and the J. Edgar Hoover Gold Medal for Distinguished Public Service honoring his more than 25 years of public safety service to the State of Texas and the United States of America.  Lilly earned his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Texas State University (2002). He completed a doctorate in Forensic Psychology and Criminology and since 2011 served as a full-time Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Howard Payne University, where he also served in the protection of the faculty, staff, students, and visitors by serving as the Director of Public Safety for the university

In 2018 Dr. Lilly was elected County Judge of Brown County by the largest margin in county history. Dr. Lilly was sworn into office on Jan. 1, 2019 and now presides as the Chief Executive Officer of the county government and as well presides over the County Criminal Courts.
