The Brown County Jail received its Certificate of Compliance from the Texas Commission on Jail Standards in February. This certifies that the jail has passed an assessment in security, control, conditions, and compliance with the established state minimum standards.
In a letter dated February 11th from the Commission’s Executive Director Adan Munoz to Brown County Sheriff Bobby Grubbs, it states:
“It is with great pleasure that I enclose a Certification of Compliance for the Brown County Jail. The most recent inspection of your facility by Texas commission on jail Standards Inspector Jackie Semmler has demonstrated that your facility is in compliance with Texas Minimum Jail Standards.
This certificate of compliance is a direct result of your department’s commitment to excellence and further attests, signifies and demonstrates your department’s dedication and professionalism in maintaining a safe, secure, and sanitary facility.
It is imperative that each facility have the budgetary support of their respective Commissioner’s Court in order to maintain a safe and secure facility. Therefore, I would like to commend the Brown County Commissioner’s Court for their continued support of jail operations.
The citizens of Brown County should be proud of your combined efforts, as is the Texas Commission on Jail Standards.”
