A Brown County resident got his Christmas present a bit early this year.
On Monday December 21st, hunter Hubert Todd shot a buck of a lifetime when he took down a 27-point buck near his home at Thrifty in western Brown County. The buck scored a whopping 210 6/8 inches with a 19 1/8 inch inside spread. They estimate the buck to be between 3 ½- 4 ½ years old.
Todd was showing off his prize Tuesday at Weakley-Watson Sporting Goods in downtown Brownwood as a large group of fellow hunters came by to congratulate him as word spread through town. The deer was entered into Weakley-Watson Sporting Goods’ annual “Big Buck Contest.” Store owner Mike Blagg said, “This one will be extremely hard to beat.”
