BrownCountyHistoricalCommissionlogoThe State Legislature has designated the month of October as Archeology Awareness Month.  They encourage schools and organizations to participate by having archeology awareness programs across the state.

The Brown County Historical Commission and the Brown County Historical Society will sponsor a program on Thursday October 15th at 4pm in room 13 in the Guy D. Newman Hall on the Douglas MacArthur campus of Howard Payne University.

Tom Adams, a member of the Texas Archaeological Stewardship Network, will give a talk entitled “The Texas Archaeological Stewardship Network: Working in Partnership with the Texas Historical Commission.”

The talk will give examples of how this program works in Brown and surrounding counties.  The program is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
