After recent heavy rains throughout Brown County, commissioners lifted the burn ban during their regular meeting of the court on Monday.
The ban had been implemented on July 18th due to dry conditions and multiple grass fires and what commissioners considered dangerous conditions throughout the county. Prior to the July ban, Brown County had been without a burn ban since the early part of March.
In other matters on Monday’s agenda:
*Commissioners approved a proclamation to declare the week of September 18-24 as “The ARK Classic and Adams Pro Tour Week.” The golf tournament is a fundraiser for the ARK which will run from September 19-24 at the Brownwood Country Club.*Precinct 1 Commissioner Gary Worley received approval to clarify purchase price of a vehicle bought through the Buy Board.
*District Clerk Cheryl Jones received approval of replacement employee
*Precinct 2 Commissioner Joel Kelton received approval of an application for an installation of a private line on County Road 428.
