SUCCESSFUL BROWN COUNTY YOUTH FAIR

Brown County Youth Fair was a big success this year and Brown County 4-H would like to thank everyone who organized and helped with the fair. 4-H would like to also thank all the donors and supports of the 2013 Premium Sale. As agents, we are proud of all the 4-H members who participated and would like to congratulate everyone. For those members that will be participating in the major livestock shows, GOOD LUCK!!!

BROWN COUNTY YOUTH FAIR HEIFER SHOW DONOR RECOGNITION

This year at the Brown County Youth Fair Larry Norris presented an award to the exhibitor of the champion heifer. Mr. Norris made this presentation in memory of his father, JB Norris. The recipient of the champion heifer award was Madellyne Adams of Brookesmith 4-H. Brown County 4-H would like to thank Mr. Norris for his contribution and support to the Brown County Youth Fair Heifer Show.

CHICK- FIL- A FUNDRAISER BENEFITTING THE FUQUA FAMILY

On the morning of Monday, January 14th , Pam and Michael Fuqua lost their home and all of their belongings to a house fire. They, along with their four children and two year old granddaughter,  have lost everything. Michael is a member of the 3M family and Pam is a dedicated school teacher in Bangs. Chick -Fil- A has agreed to donate 15% of their total sales between 5p.m. and 8p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 to the Fuqua family. Please invite your family and friends to help them get back on their feet!

MAJOR STOCK SHOW PASSES

The Ft. Worth, San Angelo, and San Antonio Stock Show passes have arrived. If you are participating in these shows the passes are available for you to pick up at the Extension Office. If you have signed up for any of these shows and are NOT going to be participating or have any other questions please contact Nick Gonzales.

FT. WORTH STOCK SHOW

If you are participating in the Ft. Worth Stock Show all species of livestock MUST HAVE HEALTH PAPERS FROM A VETERINARIAN WITHIN 30 DAYS OF SHOW. If you have any questions please contact Nick Gonzales.

MEAT JUDGING PRACTICE

A Meats Judging practice will be held on January 29th, 6:00 PM, at the Bangs High School FCS classroom. Anyone interested in meat judging is invited. The meats judging team will be practicing for the contest in San Angelo on February 16th. For more information contact the extension office or email Mark Carroll at jmcarroll@ag.tamu.edu.

4-H ENROLLMENT IS OPEN ON 4-H CONNECT!

All 4-H families, new and returning, are encouraged to log in and enroll in order to become an official 4-H member. If you want to become an adult leader or volunteer we encourage you to enroll for the 2012-2013 year. The web site for 4-H CONNECT is www.4honline.com There is no cost for adult leaders or adult volunteers. As you enroll in 4-H for the year, here are some tips in using 4-H CONNECT:

If you already have a profile DO NOT create another one!

If you lost your email and password call the county office we can tell you your e-mail address and reset your password!

To be an official 4-H member in Texas 4-H you must have an ACTIVE profile in 4-H CONNECT!

An active membership will not be granted until the $20.00 participation fee is paid on 4-H   Connect!

You cannot register for an event until your profile is ACTIVE.

When you are doing your re-enrollment for the 2012-2013 4-H Year please make sure you update your address, phone number, and e-mail address.

You can use your Spaghetti Luncheon Fundraiser Voucher to pay your membership dues. To do this you will have to come into the extension office to enroll.

Don’t wait until the last minute to enroll because after October 31st the cost increases to $25!!
