As the Brownwood Bass Club fished Lake Nasworthy near San Angelo on Sunday, February 26th, Robert Brown (pictured below) and Jennetta Toeppich (pictured above) took top honors in all divisions.
According to Toeppich, “It was a windy cold day and the fishing was tough and it was hard to keep the boat lined up with the shore.” Toeppich recounted that she and her husband caught several that were not keepers but that she caught one that was big enough to keep and “it was a monster.”
Results are as follows:
Number of Contestants : 15 Open, 18 Big Bass, 2 Ladies
Number of fish weighed in: 6 fish for a total of 23.88 pounds
Open Division :
1st Place Robert Brown total fish 2 total weight 10.77 lbs
2nd Place Danny Webb total fish 1 total weight 2.17 lbs
3rd Place Steve Butler total fish 1 total weight 1.40 lbs
Ladies Division:
1st Place Jennetta Toeppich total fish 1 total weight 8.29 lbs
Big Bass Overall:
1st Place Jennetta Toeppich with 8.29 lbs
2nd Place Robert Brown with 7.33 lbs
The next tournament is scheduled for March 11th and will be held on O. H. Ivie Reservoir. Club membership fees are $20 per year (2 cards) for immediate family and $25 for sponsors (1 card). Memberships can be paid at the Sportsman Center on Belle Plain Ave or at club meetings. The next club meeting is scheduled for March 8th at 6pm at the Sportsman Center on Belle Plain.
