Brownwood Regional Medical would like to thank and honor patients during National Patient Recognition Week (NPRW), the first seven days of February, and remind our community that National Patient Recognition Day, is Wednesday, February 3rd.
“Patient well-being, loyalty, and satisfaction are continually cited as top concerns among healthcare providers,” says Matthew Maxfield, CEO Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Further, “National Patient Recognition Week presents a golden opportunity for our management team, physicians, nurses, technologists, technicians, ancillary personnel, and volunteers to reflect on how their attitude and actions affect the well-being and satisfaction of the patients they serve. “We need to demonstrate that patient needs go beyond the technical aspects of medical care to include empathy, exactness, and encouragement,” said Maxfield.
Here at Brownwood Regional Medical Center, we believe National Patient Recognition Week is a chance to examine and demonstrate our commitment to patient care, consumer advocacy, and patient-inspired best practices and outcomes. “Most healthcare observances focus on healthcare personnel,” said Maxfield. “National Patient Recognition Week is a chance to honor the patients we serve.”
Founded in 1995, and celebrated the first week in February and officially recognized on February 3, National Patient Recognition Week recalls the mindset to put “care-ism” before capitalism, lest we forget our reason for being, caring for those in need of medical and health care.
