Press Release – The Brownwood Regional Medical Center Volunteers are pleased to announce the selection of their November and December 2016 BRMC Volunteers of the Month. During the January 2017 Meeting of the BRMC Volunteer’s Executive Board, BRMC Volunteer Phyllis Heard was honored as the November 2016 BRMC Volunteer of the Month and BRMC Volunteer Grace Gray was honored as the December 2016 BRMC Volunteer of the Month.

The Volunteer of the Month Award is awarded by the BRMC Volunteers each month during the year. Recipients of the Award receive recognition and lunch at the Executive Board Meeting held in the month following the month for which they are selected.

The BRMC Volunteers are always excited to meet area individuals who are interested in becoming a Volunteer and are actively soliciting new members. If you have an interest in serving others a minimum of 6 to 8 hours per month, BRMC Volunteering will meet your needs. The November 2016 BRMC Volunteer of the Month

Phyllis Heard joined the BRMC Volunteer Organization on April 30, 2003. She volunteers at the BRMC Information Desk located at the front entrance to BRMC.

Phyllis is a familiar face in the afternoon at the Information Desk. She enjoys serving BRMC Staff Members, Patients, and visitors by providing general information, guiding patients and visitors, and delivering flowers, newspapers, and Senior Circle meal tickets.

Phyllis has accumulated over 2.700 hours of Volunteer Service at BRMC.

 

 

 

The December 2016 BRMC Volunteer of the Month

Grace Gray joined the BRMC Volunteers Organization on January 24, 2000. She has been a volunteer in BRMC’s Surgery Waiting Area since joining the BRMC Volunteers and has served as Chairperson of the Surgery Waiting Area Volunteer Service Area since 2001.

Grace has also been a member of the BRMC Volunteers Scholarship Committee since 2012. She enjoys assisting patient’s family members while the patient is in surgery and likes assisting students who are seeking degrees in the Allied Healthcare Fields. Grace has accumulated over 8,000 hours of Volunteer Service at BRMC.
