Brenda “Meme” Simpson, 71, of Brownwood passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016, in Brownwood. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Monday, September 19, 2016, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery. The family will receive guest prior to the funeral service, from 1pm-2pm, Monday.
Brenda Gale (Bingham) Simpson was born August 6, 1945, in Coleman, Texas, to James and Rosie Bingham. She married James Simpson on January 23, 1960, in Brownwood. Brenda was an LVN and worked at T.Y.C. for 10 years before her retirement. Family was the most important part of Brenda’s life; nothing came before her children and grandchildren. She was always there for her family; even just to give support and words of encouragement. Brenda instilled valuable life lessons that her loved ones will carry with them throughout the rest of their lives. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, James L. Bingham and Rosie L. Giles.Survivors include her husband, James “Chick” Simpson, of Brownwood; children, Jimmy Simpson of Brownwood, Belinda Brown and husband Thomas, of Brownwood, Arlie Simpson and wife Dee Dee of Sidney, TX, Dew Simpson and wife Cindy of Rockwood, TX, and Stacey Simpson and wife Wendy of Brownwood; siblings, James Bingham and Evelyn of California, Luke Bingham of Minnesota, Kathleen Giles of Chandler, TX, Dorothy Chick and husband Jimmy of Abilene; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
