Brady Creek Bass Club will host a fishing tournament on Lake Brownwood to benefit Rochelle High School’s Project Graduation on Saturday, May 7th. Registration is Friday, May 6th from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 7th from 5:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Marina.
Tournament hours are 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One team member must be under 18 years old and must spend a combined 4 hours in the boat, according to tournament rules.
Over $5,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded. First place is guaranteed $1,000, according to organizers. First place prize is co-sponsored by Premier Silica and The Commercial National Bank of Brady.
Entry fees are $50 per team and includes Big Bass. Three Big Bass pays 50/30/20. Weigh-in will be at Mountain View Marina.
Tournament Rules are as follows:
- Tournament hours are 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
- All contestants must be signed up with paid entries before 6:00 a.m. the day of the tournament.
- Contestants may be on the water before 6:00 a.m. but may not make their first cast before 6:00 a.m.
- Weigh-in line opens at 2:30. Contestants must be in line with their fish at 3:00 p.m. sharp
- This is a 5 fish tournament. Each team may weigh less than but no more than 5 fish. All bass must be 14 inches with mouth closed and tail pinched.
- Contestants must make every effort to keep fish alive and healthy. No pale gilled or frozen fish will be weighed.
- Tournament officials reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone of questionable character.
- Contestants must submit to a polygraph if required.
- All fishing must be done in the navigable waters of Lake Brownwood only.
- Contestants must have a working livewell system.
- Contestants must adhere to all state and local laws.
- All persons in the boat must have coast guard approved flotation devices.
- At least one member of the two-person team must be under 18 years old as of May 7th, 2016. Bring ID, DL, birth certificate, etc.
- Junior member of the team must spend a combined 4 hours in the boat.
- Team members under 13 MUST wear coast guard approved life preserver at all times on the water (State law).
- No fishing within 25’ of another contestant without their permission. Utmost effort must be made to be a good sportsman. Any unethical or unsportsmanlike behavior as deemed by tournament officials will be disqualified.
- All protests must be in writing and presented to tournament director no later than 15 minutes after weigh in concludes. Protest must contain boat registration number and description.
