Early ISD school board member and local real estate agent Gary Bowen is said to be doing much better after a heart attack and vehicle accident last week.
Brent Moseley, owner of Prudential Real Estate in Early where Bowen works, said that Bowen is still in the hospital, but has been making a good recovery.
“Gary is doing good,” Moseley said. “He is up and walking 3 to 4 time per day for 15 minutes.”
Moseley said that Bowen was transferred to his own room Friday night.
“He is doing very, very good for what he’d gone through.” Moseley said.
He said that they are hopeful that he will be discharged soon to work on recovery at home.
Bowen’s SUV collided with a tree and utility pole last Tuesday morning after he suffered a heart attack behind the wheel. He was airlifted to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene from the scene.
Gary Bowen and his wife Tammy are best known as the former owners of Heartland Skateway.
