Bangs student Dustin Bostick traveled to the San Antonio Stock Show last week and won Grand Champion with his Red Brangus heifer and took home a scholarship.
The heifer show took place on Friday, February 15th and Bostick and his heifer “Red” placed at the top of her breed, securing a $10,000 scholarship award for Bostick. His brother Dylan won the award two years ago.Dustin attends 8th grade in Bangs and has been showing Red Brangus heifers for three years. He participates in all the major stock shows with San Antonio being the first. Other shows he plans to attend this year are the Houston Livestock Show, The Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo Livestock Show in Austin, Heart O’ Texas Livestock Show in Waco and the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, then in June he will attend the National Red Brangus Show in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Dustin has been successful in the past, winning Grand Champion Heifer at the National Red Brangus Show last year, Reserve Grand Champion in Austin and Reserve Division heifer at the Brown County Youth Fair.
Dustin is the son of Don and Stephanie Bostick. The Bostick Family wishes to thank the Ivey Family and III Farms for yet another champion heifer.
