Bonita Petty – beautiful, loving, talented, witty, giving, kind, caring, loved life, saw beauty in everything and everyone. Jesus was her best friend and her children called her blessed!
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Heartland Funeral Home with Tom Washburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Petty passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 in a local nursing home.
Bonita was born April 6, 1922 in Mena, Arkansas to Louvenna and Samuel Dodson She was married to Roscoe Petty on October 15, 1938 in Brown County. Mrs. Petty was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ and had lived in Brownwood for several years.
Survivors include one son Larry Petty and wife Jean of Brownwood, one brother Roy Dodson, 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 53 great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter Louise Welch.
Mrs. Petty was an artist, loved God and her family dearly. She will be greatly missed!
