Brownwood News – We received word Tuesday afternoon that the Boil Water Notice has been rescinded in the Brookesmith Special Utility District.
On January 10, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Brookesmith Special Utility District public water system to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The Brookesmith Special Utility District has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by BSUD for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicated that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of January 14, 2020.
If you have questions concerning this matter, contact Brookesmith SUD at 325-646-5731 or at their office at 5500 County Road 554 in Brownwood.
