Brownwood News – Water issues is causing havoc in the town of Comanche.

According to a Facebook post by Comanche County Judge, Stephanie Davis:  A 16-inch main line, supplying water to the City of Comanche, was punctured.  As of 4:00 o’clock this morning, (Tues. Aug 20) Judge Davis says the City of Comanche has repaired the punctured water line, however, Comanche is now under a Boil Water Notice.

ANYONE GETTING WATER THROUGH THE CITY OF COMANCHE NEEDS TO BOIL THEIR WATER UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

You will notice a decrease in your water pressure. This will be for an extended period of time while the system comes back up to full capacity.

  • Comanche ISD is closed today (Tues 8/20).
  • Comanche residents are urged to limit your water usage.  DO NOT water lawns or do laundry today in Comanche.  Use water sparingly until emergency status has been lifted.
  • Comanche County Emergency Management says porta potties are being delivered to the Courthouse square.  Grand Street, north of the Square, is closed.  Water trucks are expected to arrive at 7:30 am this morning.  Please bring your own containers to fill up with water.
