Bobby Dean Sikes, age 74 of Bangs went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 26, in Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday in the Bangs Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Lewis officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

He was born September 14, 1937 in Santa Anna, the son of the late Howard and Elinor Miller Sikes. He had lived in Brown County all of his life and worked in the ranching and farming business. He was married to Charlotte Chopelas in Brownwood on January 8, 1975 and was a Methodist.

 

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Sikes of Bangs,

2 Daughters – Deborah Ferrara and husband Michael of Round Rock
Gin Burnett and husband Russell of Georgetown

2 Sons – Tommy and Roy Sikes of Bangs

A twin Sister – Pat Spivey of Bangs

Grandchildren – Jacey and Katy Ferrara, Daniel, Michael, Christopher, and Kayla Burnett

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Elinor Sikes, A brother, Tommy Sikes, and a nephew, Danny Spivey.

The family respectively requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, the Bangs United Methodist Church, or the Bangs Food Pantry.
