Funeral Services for Bobby Anderson, age 65, of Bangs, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Victory Life Church in Brownwood under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Anderson passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 in San Angelo.
Bobby was born on February 13, 1950 in Los Angeles, California to Bill and Rosalie Raino Anderson.
Bobby graduated from Stamford High School in 1968. He attended Austin College on football and baseball scholarships where he earned a M.A. in History and B.A. in business administration.
He taught school and coached football and track for 42 years, coaching in Brownwood, Howard Payne University, Cisco College, Bangs, Lindale and the last 3 years in Coleman.
He enjoyed his family, woodworking, going to Texas Rangers games, coaching and watching football and working on his small farm.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and brother Chuck Anderson.He is survived by his wife Orinda, of 38 years, and sons Robert Anderson of Bangs, Ryan Anderson of Tyler, and Richard Anderson of Bangs. Surviving family also includes sister Kathy Anderson and husband Jerry Barnett of Austin, step mother Helen Anderson of Early, uncle Bob Gamblin and wife Martha of Arlington, and nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Ministries or Boys and Girls Club of Brownwood.
