Funeral services for Bobbie J. Allen, age 81, of Early, will be at 1:30 PM, Friday, October 2, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Early. Interment will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
Mrs. Allen died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at her home.
Bobbie was born on January 27, 1928 in Owens to Lonnie R. and Leo (Bowden) Nelson. She married Dewitt Allen on December 23, 1943 in Indian Creek. He died January 15, 1981. Bobbie was a longtime and faithful member of Early First Baptist Church.
Bobbie is survived by two daughters, Vicki Ferguson and husband Jim of Brownwood and Donna Tyson and husband Kelly of Zephyr, six grandchildren, Jennifer Aaron and husband Tony of Early, Shance Tyson and wife Kim of Magnolia, Brandi Allen of Early, Kassi Tyson of California, Neely Felux of Brownwood, and Lisa Ferguson of San Marcos; 11 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Middleton of Brownwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Kenneth and Jimmy Allen, and a grandson, Chris Dutton.
The family requests that memorials be made to Early First Baptist Church or to the American Heart Association.
