She was born Bobbie Fae Baucom on October 9, 1932, in Burkett, a daughter of J. A. and Della Golson Baucom. She grew up in Coleman where she graduated from Coleman High School. Following high school, she attended Howard Payne in Brownwood for three years. Bobbie lived in Brownwood, Brady, Dallas, Irving and moved to Abilene in 1968. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sisters, Lavada Poindexter Beard and Mary Hagler both of Clyde; one brother, Jack Baucom of San Angelo; two sons, Tom Carter of Avoica and Mark Carter of Fort Worth; one daughter, Mary Rak of Carrollton; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Marvin Baucom of San Angelo and Frank Baucom of Coleman; one daughter, Beth Carter.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday and continue until the time of the service.
