Funeral services for Bobbie Beal, age 84, of Early, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Ailshie officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Beal passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.
Bobbie June Funderburg Beal was born on August 19, 1930 in Brownwood, Texas to Allen J. and Bessie Cora Funderburg. She married Albert Leon Beal on January 8, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Early. A lifetime resident of Brown County, she retired from the First National Bank of Brownwood (now Bank of America) after 36 years of service. She was a member of the Early First Baptist Church.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Nana, as she was known to her family, lived her life as a model of service to and sacrifice for others.Survivors include her daughter Cathy Hughes of Pearland, Texas; son Steve Beal and wife Teresa of Early; grandchildren Stephanie Hughes of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ashley Thornberry and husband Carey of Early, Jonathan Beal and wife Kali of Early, Cody Laney of San Antonio, Texas, Blair Bridges and husband Dustin of Brazoria, Texas; great grandchildren Hayden Welch, Hallie and Harper Thornberry, all of Early and Braylynn Bridges of Brazoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Dellwyn Hughes, brother Allen Funderburg and sisters Dorothy Farris and Bettye Stewart.
