A visitation for Bob Ellis, age 71, of Bangs, will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 at Heartland Funeral Home.
Robert Lynn “Bob” Ellis was born August 26, 1944, in Tucumcari, N.M. to Elmo and Jimmie Holt Ellis. The family moved to South Houston where Bob attended school and graduated from South Houston High School in 1962. He graduated from San Jacinto Jr. College in 1965 and Angelo State University in 1967.
He married Elizabeth Loeffler October 7, 1967, in Mason, Texas.
Bob retired from Texas Parks and Wildlife as a Park Superintendent and Peace Officer in 1995.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ida Stephenson.
Survivors include his wife of Bangs, son Jon Ellis and wife Christy, Daughter Kristi Owen and husband Scott, and grandsons, Seth and Kory Owen and Garrett and Zachary Ellis, all of Brownwood. Brother James Ellis and wife, Dianne of Santo, brother-in-law, Don Stephenson of Carrollton, and mother-in-law, Sarah Loeffler of Mason, Texas, one niece and two nephews.Bob was a member of Bangs First United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge of Goliad, Texas. He enjoyed all levels of baseball, hunting, fishing, and playing 42.
Bob passed from this life on Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Brownwood at age 71.
