Press Release – September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and Brownwood Middle School (BMS) has announced their “Diggin’ for a Cause” fundraiser to help raise money for one their students who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor.
“The student had surgery last Friday, and will now have to undergo treatment and recovery,” noted BMS Girls Volleyball Coordinator, Kendi Skelton. “We have received word that the surgery went great.”
“This year we have decided to participate in Diggin’ for a Cause in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness,” stated Skelton, adding that the fundraiser will take place during an upcoming volleyball game. “The game will be held October 5th. We are selling t-shirts, having a bake sale and concession stand, as well as accepting donations. All proceeds will go to this family to help offset medical costs.”
