The Brownwood Municipal Police Association recently presented Officer Brian Rice a check for the proceeds raised during the brisket fundraiser which was held on April 18, 2015. Over $4,600 was collected during the fundraiser.
Officer Rice’s newborn son Joshua has been in the neonatal intensive care unit in Fort Worth due to many complications which arose during his mother’s pregnancy and after his birth. Another surgery is needed and it will be many months before baby Joshua will be able to come home, according to BMPA officials.
The BMPA would like to express our gratitude to Allsups, Jason Cockerham business owner of CC RV Park, Gene Glenn of Glenn Vending, Brookshires, Walmart, Food Plaza, Ray and Randi Slayton, Roberts & Petty who donated to the event.
BMPA would also to like to express their gratitude to the citizens of Brownwood and Brown County for coming out to the fundraiser and for making it possible provide some financial relief to the Rice family.
