Blanket High School Lady Tigers Golf Team placed first at the UIL 1A Golf Tournament, which was held at Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin on Wednesday and Thursday, April 27-28.
The Lady Tigers shot 442 on day one and 399 on day two. With a total score of 841, the Lady Tigers placed 4th overall in against 11 other teams which included Utopia (1st), Robert Lee (2nd), Tioga (3rd), Matador Motley County, Briscoe Fort Elliott, Paducah, Iredell, Wink, Bronte, Leakey, and Runge High Schools.
Lady Tiger golfer Marki Kinkade placed 6th overall after shooting a total of 178 in a field of 69 other competitors.
Team members included Cassie Furry, Kenzie Tidwell, Emily Furry, and Marki Kinkade. The Lady Tigers, pictured above, are coached by Scott Edmondson.
