Special to Brownwood News – The Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees met for a special-called joint session with the Brownwood City Council on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. The session was called to order by BISD Board President Michael Cloy. Austin Avenue Church of Christ Youth Minister, Sean Fitzgerald gave the invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by 7th Grade student, Zachary Ellis, and 8th grade student, Carlee Richardson.
The following groups and individuals were recognized by BISD and were presented with certificates highlighting their achievements and/or support.
BHS MIGHTY MAROON LION MARCHING BAND The band was recognized for their Division I rating at the recent UIL Region 7 Marching Band Contest at Early High School on Saturday, October 22nd.

KOHLER Kohler Sr. Human Resource Generalist, Mitzi Dahlberg accepted a recognition certificate presented to Kohler for their support of BISD AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), and character development programs.

JOINT MEETING WITH BROWNWOOD CITY COUNCIL
During the joint meeting between the Brownwood City Council and the Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees, both entities gave presentations providing information on areas where conversations and input could be mutually beneficial to ongoing programs and future projects.
