Brownwood Independent School District school board members Dr. Justin Murphy and John Nickols were honored Monday night as they attended their final school board meeting. These outgoing school board members were presented with a plaque for their years of service to the school district.
“We certainly wanted to take a moment to thanks Justin and John for their many years of service to our board,” said BISD Superintendent Reece Blincoe. “What is neat about our board is that each member brings a perspective and each member brings a strength, and we are going to miss these two strengths.”
Murphy and Nickols each chose not to run for re-election as a school board trustees.
Michael Cloy of place 1 and Lisa Fowler of place 6 will each be installed to replace the outgoing trustees at the November BISD school board meeting. Cloy and Fowler filed unopposed in each place.
