The Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees took no action Monday after an hour and a half executive session regarding BISD superintendent Reece Blincoe as well as possibly censuring a board member.
The board met in executive session to consult with the district’s attorney, who was present at the meeting, to possibly censure an unidentified board member. Another agenda item stated that the board was to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee, including the evaluation of the superintendent.
After the executive session, the board’s only vote was to approve a new hire to the district, with no action being taken on the executive session items.
District officials had no further comment on the issues at the conclusion of the meeting. The BISD school board met in executive session last month regarding the possibility of buying out the superintendent’s contract, but no action was taken as a result of that meeting either. A subsequent meeting last month was later cancelled on the same subject. Officials had not further comment on those meetings.
