BISD Press Release – Brownwood ISD has announced the schedule for student registration for the upcoming school year. For students who attended the district in the 2016-2017 year, registration will be completed online this year. Beginning July 31st, parents of returning students will complete all documentation under the Registration Tab on the district website, www.brownwoodisd.org. If anyone requires assistance with the online registration, he/she may attend a registration session for new students, as listed below.
For students who are NEW to BISD this year, registration will take place per the following schedule:
- Grades PK – 6 @ Brownwood Administration Office: Monday, July 31, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Tuesday, August 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Grades 7 – 8 @ Brownwood Middle School: Wednesday, August 2, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Thursday, August 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Grades 9 – 12 @ Brownwood High School: Wednesday, August 2, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Thursday, August 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The parent or guardian of each new student must provide the following:
1) Parent/guardian photo ID
2) Child’s birth certificate
3) Child’s Social Security card
4) Child’s up-to-date immunization record
5) Proof of address:
A) If you OWN your home, bring ONE of the following:
- Purchase contract or mortgage with date of possession (not closing date)
- Current electric, water, or gas bill
B) If you RENT your home, bring ONE of the following:
- Signed lease or rental agreement, including move-in date
- Current electric, water, or gas bill
C) If you LIVE WITH ANOTHER FAMILY, the homeowner or renter must accompany the Parent/Guardian to enroll new students. All of the following must be submitted:
- A BISD Student Residency Statement available at registration
- An electric, water, or gas bill in the owner’s/renter’s name
6) Information from the last school attended
7) Court documents affecting the parent/child relationship
*NEW PK STUDENTS ONLY – Proof of previous month’s income or letter of eligibility for SNAP or TANF benefits must also be presented.
