Brownwood Intermediate School computer students put their website-creating skills to work creating webpages showing support for the United States Military for National Military Appreciation Month.
“I am pleased with what the students have created,” said Marla VanWyk, computer teacher at Brownwood Intermediate School. “These children are 11 to 12 years old, and have just learned the basic tags for html.”
The sixth graders coded the webpages from scratch, and also learned and utilized a photo editor called Gimp. “Some of the students created special effects within Gimp and then used their creation on their webpage,” stated VanWyk.
The webpages are published on the Brownwood Intermediate School website, and can also be viewed by visiting: http://www.brownwoodisd.org/bisstudentwebpages.
