BlairBillyLeeBilly Lee Blair, known to many as Red Blair, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, at Songbird Lodge nursing home in Brownwood.  He was born at May, TX, on January 26, 1932.  He grew up and attended school at May, later marrying his high school sweetheart, Bobbie Jo McMurry, also of May, in 1951. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955.  He operated a service station in Waco in the 50’s, an equipment rental store in Austin in the 60’s, and was later a rancher in Burnet County for 30 years.  He and Bobbie returned to May in 1997 where he renewed many old friendships and made new ones.

Billy is preceded in death by parents, L.B. and Ollie Lee Blair, and sister, Lurlene Woolam.  He is survived by wife of 62 years Bobbie Blair and two children, Billy E. Blair of Austin, TX, and Melissa Pyeatt of Cedar Park, TX.  He is also survived by one brother and his wife, R.A. and Betty Blair of Hobbs, NM.

Surviving grandchildren are Michelle and Michael Ancone, Burton, TX; Robert Pyeatt, Cedar Park, TX; Geoff and Ginny Blair, Marble Falls, TX; Amanda Blair and triplets, Ashleigh, Lindsey and Kellie Blair, of Burnet, TX.  Surviving great-grandchildren are Avery and Adley Ancone and Desiree, Mitzi, and Makayla Blair.

Pall bearers are Geoff Blair, Raymond Wheeler, Chris Holler, Don Wende, Jess Kennedy, and Butch Ellis. Honorary pall bearers are Mike Whitted, Bud Ellis and David Wheeler.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2:00 PM at Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood.  Burial to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in May, Texas.
