Billy Joy “Daddy Bill” Bennett went home to His Lord and Savior on October 15, 2018. He was born to Wynona Wright Bennett and Vernon Bennett on February 11, 1932. After leaving high school, he joined the Armed Forces, Army Branch, where he would train Paratroopers. He was employed by the State Highway Department, where he ran the District lab, until he decided to retire and open Bennett Body Shop with his wife, Barbie.
Daddy Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Barbie Bennet; grandchildren, Hayli Henry and husband, Heath, Tiffany Price and husband, John, and Tim and Shawna Fulton. great grandchildren, Jake Cox and wife, Kadie, Tanner Cox, Josh Cox, Karter Gross, Dylan Person and wife Meagan, Carly Person, Justin Price, Zachary, Jared and Bhrenlyn Fulton; and one GREAT-GREAT Grandson, River D Cox.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Wynona Bennett, daughter, Lori Kim Bennett Scott, granddaughter, Marri Fulton, brother, Gene Bennett and sister, Charlene Matthews.
Funeral services for Bill will be held at 1 PM Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Family burial will be held prior to the service.
