Billy Dean Bullard Sr. age 86, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2020 in Brownwood.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 26th at 1:00 PM at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early.

Funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM Wednesday. Interment will be at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.

Billy was born Saturday, February 17, 1934 in Brownwood to Pete and Inez Bullard.  He graduated from Brownwood High School and attended Howard Payne University.  Billy married Sandra Vogel on July 6, 1956 and began a life together of 64 years that blessed them with three children.  Billy owned and ran the Bullard Truck Stop in Early for 7 years.  He went on to work for Kohler until he retired.  Billy was a member of the Garland First Baptist Church.  He enjoyed being outdoors gardening, fishing and hanging out with the squirrels and deer that would visit his yard, where he would have them eating out of his hand.  He was also a champion of “washer pitching.”  Billy loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He gained the nickname “Cranker” from his grandchildren which only they could call him.

Billy is survived by his wife Sandra Bullard; son Mike Bullard and wife Judy; daughter Kellye Bullard; 8 grandchildren and their spouses; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Bullard and wife Jan, Mike Bullard and wife Glenda; sisters, Patsy Dickenson and Monnette King; sister-in-laws, Betty Bullard and Beverly Bullard and his canine buddy Scotty Dog.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son Billy Dean Bullard Jr; brothers, Ted, Buster, Buddy, Freddie, Tommy and Burl Bullard; sister “Sis” Thelma Bullard; brother-in-law Johnny King and sister-in-law Yolanda Bullard.
