Funeral services for Billie Faye Jacobs, age 84, of Brownwood, will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cox Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
Ms. Jacobs died Friday, September 28, 2012 in Brownwood.
Billie was born in Brownwood on April 10, 1928 to Jesse and Ola (Harrell) Lancaster. She attended Brownwood schools and graduated from Brownwood High School. She married Vernon Earl “Jake” Jacobs in July 1946 in Brownwood. She was a faithful and longtime member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Billie worked for several years as a deputy district clerk for Brown County.
Billie is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Heathcock of Brownwood, a son Thomas Jacobs and wife Vickie of Liberty Hill, six grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jake Jacobs in 1977, twin sister, Willie Hatchett, sisters, Janie Lancaster, Mary Smith and Hazel Moreland, brothers, Jim Lancaster and O.J. Lancaster; and a granddaughter, Emily Dawn Andrews.
