Thousands of kids and parents attended Saturday’s 4th Annual Great Easter Egg Hunt and Candy Throwdown at Coggin Park. Wendlee Broadcasting, (KQBZ The Breeze 96.9 FM and NewsTalk 102.3/1240), hosted the event with the help of sponsors Brookshire’s, Bruner Auto Group, Schlotzsky’s, and Dr. Pepper.
Activities at the event included Easter egg hunts for three age groups (3 and under, 4-5 and 6-7), classic car show by the Heartland Cruisers, pony rides, Brownwood Fire Department trucks, Brownwood Police patrol cars, inflatable obstacle course, free fruit from Brookshires, food and drinks at the Dr. Pepper trailer, and Mr. and Mrs. Bunny were on hand.
Organizers gave away more than 15,000 pieces of candy at the event.
In addition, KQBZ gave away the “Bunny with the Money” which included a prize package with a huge stuffed bunny, a basket full of candy and toys plus $100 cash. Sherry Davis was the big winner of this year’s “Bunny with the Money” (pictured at top with KQBZ’s Ben Cox).
Brownwood High School Key Club members volunteered to help stuff thousands of eggs for the event and distribute them for the hunt.
