Traditionally, the Brown County Big Brothers Big Sisters biggest fundraiser called “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” has always been in November. For 2010, the board members and director have decided to move the fundraiser to April. April 17th to be exact.
Director Shane Blackshear said “The executive board along with myself felt that the timing of the fundraiser was too late in the year and that we could better engage the community in the spring time.”
BBBS will only be switching the date this time and when the event is done there will not be another one again until next spring.
Bowl for Kids’ Sake started in 1985 and is a major source of income for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brown County. The primary way that revenue is generated from BFKS is by the public forming teams and the individual team members soliciting pledges from their circle of contacts to support their bowling game. In addition, businesses can sponsor the event.
If your business would like to be a sponsor or if you would like to form a team, please contact Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brown County at 325/643-5600. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor supported agency.
