narnia

Brownwood High School will hold six public performances of the C.S. Lewis’ classic, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.  The stage set, which was designed and built almost entirely by students, is the largest in BHS Theater Department history.  Equally as large is the cast and crew of the production.

“There was so much excitement about this play that we cast two full sets of actors,” said Larry Mathis, Director.

This new dramatization of C.S. Lewis’ classic, set in the land of Narnia, faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia.

The intense action features chases, duels and escapes, as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan.  All the memorable episodes from the story are represented in this exciting dramatization: the temptation of Edmund by the witch, the slaying of the evil wolf by Peter, the witnessing of Aslan’s resurrection by Susan and Lucy, the crowing of the four new rulers of Narnia, and more.  The supporting characters are also here: the unicorn, the centaur and other forest animals, along with Father Christmas.

The community is invited to attend the performances spanning from Oct. 25th – 31st.  Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students.  Tickets may be purchased at the door or may be bought in advance at the Brownwood High School front office Monday – Friday 8:30am – 3:00pm.
