Brownwood News – The Brownwood High School Academic Awards Ceremony was held Monday, May 21, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the BHS Auditorium. Students were honored in a variety of academic and extracurricular fields, including the 2018 BHS Valedictorian and Salutatorian presentations.
Valedictorian honors were presented to Sean Yoder, with Salutatorian honors awarded to Cora McNeese.
Sean Yoder is the son of Mistee and Jeff Yoder. Sean has been active in Brownwood Lion Basketball, National Honor Society, Key Club, and Student Council. He was selected to attend Boys State and served on Mike Conaway’s Congressional Youth Advisory Council. Sean plans to attend the University of Texas in the fall, where he will major in Business.
Cora McNeese is the daughter of Eric and Sarah McNeese. As the captain of the BHS Lionette Drill Team, Cora was named as an All-American Dancer for 4 years and was selected to perform at the Citrus Bowl and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She is a member of the BHS Spanish Club, Student Council, and National Honor Society. Cora plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin in the fall to study Business.
