Prose and Poetry students from Brownwood High School traveled to compete in a UIL tournament at Brady High School on Saturday, January 25th.
The team came away with Speech Sweepstakes in addition to the following awards won by students who placed in their events: Shannon Parrish (1st place – Prose), Megan Pointer and Brooklyn Britton (Tie for 2nd Place – Prose), Trey Fawcett (1st place – Poetry), and Lindsey McKinney (4th place – Poetry).“I’m really proud of the students,” said BHS theater teacher, Larry Mathis. “This was the first tournament of the year for them to read in new UIL categories, and they read very well. We’re looking forward to a great year.”
