Brownwood News – This is Homecoming Week for the Brownwood Lions. The 2019 Brownwood High School Homecoming Nominees are Gillian Cox, Trinity Buitron, Hadley Monroe and Maddison Yazell. Individual photos and biographies on each are below.


Gillian Cox is the daughter of Christina and Daniel Cox. She is a 4-year member and Co-captain of the Brownwood High School Lionettes.  She is also an officer of Key Club and Spanish Club and a member of the National Honor Society and HOSA Future Health Professionals.  She attends and volunteers in the children’s ministry at Brownwood Community Church.  Gillian plans to attend the University of North Texas next fall and study psychology.


Trinity Eden (Buitron) Jackson is the daughter of Robby and Brandi Jackson.  She is an active member of the National Honor Society, HOSA Future Health Professionals, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  She has earned the academic distinctions of Cum Laude and Academic All-District for 3 years.  She received her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification her junior year.  Trinity has participated in Varsity Cross Country two years, Varsity Volleyball 1 year, Varsity Cheer 3 years, and Varsity Track 4 years.  In track, she had the honor of receiving the Lion Heart Award, MVP, High Point Individual, Track All State Team, and went to State 2 years in pole vault and the 300 hurdles.  She is a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church and currently works at Prima Pasta.  She has not chosen a university at this time, but plans on continuing to run track and major in nursing.


Hadley Monroe is the daughter of Jennifer Perkins and Barry McDonald. During her years at Brownwood High School, she has been involved in volleyball and basketball.  She is a 4-year starting setter for volleyball and was named Newcomer of the Year her freshman year and was a starter for basketball her Junior year.  Hadley plans to attend Texas State University to study education and become a teacher and coach.


Maddie Yazell is the daughter of Alexis and Jon Temple and Randy Yazell. During her years at Brownwood High School, Maddie has participated in Athletic Training for 1 year, Softball for 3 years, Cheer for 2 Years, Basketball for 1 year. She is member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Maddie is currently employed at The Wellness Center and babysits in her free time. After high school, Maddie plans to attend Texas State University to pursue a degree in nursing to become a Pediatric Oncology Nurse.
