The BHS Class of 1970 is Coming Back to the Pride! This year’s 40th Reunion already has the largest planned attendance of any previously held by the class.
Reunion planners have worked on the activities for over a year, and credit Facebook with helping locate many alumni who had simply fallen off the radar. Class members are returning from all over the country, including their 1970 Foreign Exchange student, Dr. Uwe Shulz, now a professor of Radio-TV in Germany, who will be traveling to Brownwood with his wife for the event.
For the early birds who get to Brownwood on Friday night, a room has been reserved at Prima Pasta in Early at 7:00 PM, where classmates and friends can meet for dinner and a head start on seeing people. Credit cards are accepted. Reservations are requested, and can be made through either of the websites listed.
In memory of the beloved class members who are deceased, the planning committee elected to have a tree planted at the entrance to the BHS campus. A dedication and memorial service will be held around the new Pecan tree on Saturday morning, with remarks by Bill Faircloth, principal of BHS, and Lee Morris, a member of the class. All friends and family of the Class of 1970 are invited to attend. No reservations are required, and following the stand up service, Mr. Faircloth will conduct a tour of the beautiful renovations at the campus for those who would like to see the facility.
Class members and friends are invited to attend the Saturday evening events at Grand Starz Hall through one of the 2 websites listed. Following registration and appetizers at 5:00 PM, and a barbecue dinner at 7:00 PM, there will be a class meeting, followed by more catching up with old friends. The cost for the Saturday evening event is $17.50 per person.
Any member of the Class of 1970 who has not already been notified of the Reunion plans is urged to contact either of the websites (or call 214-536-2624) and make plans to Come Back to the Pride with their classmates!

- 11:00 AM – Dedication of Tree in memory of departed classmates – no RSVP necessary. Location: BHS campus – front entry. Dedication/Memorial to be followed by tour of renovated BHS campus

- 7:00 PM – Barbecue Dinner – RSVPs requested. Location: Grand Starz Hall on Belle Plain. $17.50 per person, payable at the door
