Brownwood High School began handing out the new MacBook Air laptops to freshmen on Wednesday, September 26th. Brownwood ISD received a $100,000 technology grant earlier this year that helped to fund the purchase of the new computers, and the roll-out of the laptops continues the 1 to 1 initiative started in 2009.
“We’re really looking forward to the new technology we’re able to put into the students hands this year,” said Mark Stanley, Brownwood ISD Director of Technology. “Students are excited to be receiving the laptops and we’ve already had good feedback from them.”
The rollout is expected to be finished up by Thursday, and students are already utilizing the laptops in class.
