Brownwood High School students recently nominated five young ladies who will be in the running for the 2015 BHS Homecoming Queen.  Voting for this honor will take place Homecoming week and the Queen will be announced at the Homecoming game against Burkburnett on September 25th, 2015.

Below are short biographies for each Homecoming Nominee:

HopeBailey

Hope Bailey is the daughter of Greg and Melanie Bailey and the middle of five children.

She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Choices Mentoring Program. In years past, she has been involved with the Brownwood Athletics Program, Play Production, and FCCLA.

She is an active member of the youth group at Austin Avenue Church of Christ and has been to Africa, Asia, and various parts of the States on mission trips.

Hope has received the academic award Magna Cum Laude the past three years and plans to attend Harding University, next fall.

AshleyGomez

Ashley Gomez, the daughter of Albert and Jeannie Gomez, is a senior at Brownwood High School.

She is currently involved in various activities such as Student Council, Crime Stoppers, FCA, Choices Mentoring Program, and National Honor Society. She was also one of the two female students from Brownwood High to be selected to attend Girls State, a leadership camp. Ashley is also a member of girl’s athletics where she participates in both the varsity track and softball team. Along with these sports she was recognized as softball district MVP her junior year along with a regional qualification for Pole Vault during her sophomore year.  Not only is Ashley a four-year starter for Varsity softball but she is also a four-year member of her cheer squad along with being a captain. She is a Spirit Sister to Natalie, Mia, and Nyah.

Ashley is also an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownwood.

After high school, Ashley plans on going to college to study sports science and would like to play college softball or track.

Along with these activities, Ashley loves to spend time with her family during her free time. Most importantly, she loves to be a part of her Brownwood High School family.

RaeannGongora

Raeann Gongora was born in Brownfield, Tx. She is the daughter of Michelle and Bryan Adams, and is the oldest of three girls. She has two younger sisters, Tatum Adams who attends FUMC pre-school, and Danyelle Gongora who is a Junior at Brownwood High School.

Raeann is a member of the National Honor Society, Choices, Varsity Softball, Key Club, Student Council, and Milton Ave. Baptist Church.

She has cheered for 3 years and is currently on the Varsity Cheer Squad.

Raeann is undecided on her future major and plans to attend Tarleton State University (TSU) next fall.

LizzieMcCrane

Elizabeth McCrane is the daughter of Steven and Lori McCrane. She was born and raised in Brownwood,Texas.

She is a member of First United Methodist Church where she is active in the youth group and also volunteers for VBS during the summer. During spring break of this year, she traveled to Uganda with Coggin Avenue Baptist Church for evangelism in the slums of Kampala. In June of this year she also traveled to Honduras with FUMC for mission projects at Plan Escalon.

During her years in high school she participated in volleyball her freshman year, JV cheer her sophomore year, and was a varsity football trainer her junior year. She is a four year letterman in soccer and was named to the academic all district team last year.

She has been awarded magna cum laude all 3 years as well. She is involved in many clubs including Choices, National Honor Society, Key Club, Crime Stoppers, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, SHAC, and Student Council, currently serving as president.

After graduation, she plans on joining her brother Matthew at Kansas State University.

TrejouirWilson

Trejouir Wilson, a senior at Brownwood High, is the daughter of Patrick and Harriet Wilson.

She participates in Student Council (Secreatary), Key Club, and is a member of Greater Faith Community Church.

She has also lettered in basketball since her freshman year. In her 2014/2015 season she was awarded 1st team All-State, 1st team All-Region, 1st team Big Country, District MVP, and she surpassed 1,000 points. Along with this achievement, Trejouir plans to set the new highest scoring record for basketball.

Trejouir plans to continue her basketball career at a collegiate level.

At this time, she is undecided on what school she will attend, but has decided to study to become a Forensic Psychologist.
