BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of November 7th through November 13th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 27 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, and 8 fire calls.

Sunday, November 7

*3:18pm – BFD was called to the 1100 block of County Road 264 regarding a brush fire.  The report states that a fast moving grass fire in a heavily wooded area burned approximately 50 acres.  Winchell, Brookesmith, Early, Zephyr, & National Guard Fire Personnel assisted in extinguishing the fire.

Monday, November 8

*7:21am – BFD was called to a grass fire off of County Road 225.  The fire department extinguished the fire which was a rekindle from a previous fire.

*9:19pm – BFD responded to a vehicle fire on the corner of Austin Avenue and Main street in front of Fire Station 1.  Heavy smoke was coming out of the engine, but fire crews used an extinguisher to put out the fire.

Tuesday, November 9

*2:46pm – BFD responded to a grass fire in the 5800 block of N. HWY 279.  The fire department arrived to find that the Bangs Volunteer Fire Department had the small grass fire under control.   Brownwood crews refilled Bangs grass rig with water and cleared the scene.

*6:05pm – BFD responded to a grass fire off of FM 45 in south Brown County.  They arrived to find approximately 2 acres burning.  The Brownwood Fire Department assisted Brookesmith and Winchell Volunteer units in extinguishing the fire.

Friday, November 12

*9:04pm – BFD responded to a fire in the 1600 block of 1st Street.  They arrived to find a small fire in the front yard of the home.  It was extinguished and enforced by city burn codes.

Saturday, November 13

*1:34am – BFD responded to a report of fire in the 1500 block of Borden Street.  A fire in the back yard was extinguished.

*1:31pm – BFD responded to a report of smoke at a business in the 700 block of W. Austin.  The incident was determined to be an electrical problem.
