BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of October 24th through October 30th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 20 medical emergencies, 8 motor vehicle accidents, 5 fire calls, 2 hazardous conditions and 2 calls of possible gas leaks.

Sunday, October 24

*7:12pm-BFD responded to a call regarding an outside fire in the 1500 block of Terrace Dr.  Firefighters responded to a grassfire and upon their arrival found old mattresses, tires, and chairs burning.  Juveniles were seen starting the fire.  Fire Marshal Buddy Preston was notified.

*8:17pm- BFD was called to Alamo Court for a fire.  On arrival, a BBQ pit was found to be on fire.  Fire crews pulled a fire line and extinguished the fire.

Monday, October 25

* 12:55pm-BFD was called to a hazardous condition in the 1600 block of Wood Ave.  A power line was found to be down and Oncor was notified.

*4:53pm- BFD responded to a motorcycle accident in the 200 block of W. Commerce.  There were only minor injuries and no patient transport was needed.

Tuesday, October 26

*7:02am- BFD was called to a motor vehicle accident in the 6700 block of E. Hwy 377 which involved an 18 wheeler and a utility truck.  On arrival, both drivers were ambulatory; however one was transported by Guardian EMS.

* 12:41pm-BFD responded to a gas leak in the 500 block of 8th St.  A gas meter had been struck by a vehicle and was leaking.  Oncor was notified.

*5:35pm-BFD was called to a two vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of W. Austin & Booker.  One patient was transported by Guardian EMS.  Firefighters used absorbent material to clean up transmission fluid.

Wednesday, October 27

*8:35am- BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident on FM 1467.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a heavy equipment scraper laying across the highway.  The operator had been thrown from the cab.  Rescue crews provided advanced life support.   Patient was loaded into helicopter and transported to the hospital.

Thursday, October 28

* 8:10am-BFD was called to a report of the smell of gas in the 500 block of W. Commerce.  Fire Crews arrived and found gas cans that were stored overnight inside the building causing fumes to spread throughout.

*8:22am- BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle at the intersection of 4th St. & Ave K.   There were no injuries.

*7:45pm- BFD responded to a report of a power line being down.

Friday, October 29

*11:01am-BFD was called to a 3 vehicle accident with no injuries in the 600 block of Carnegie. Firefighters provided manpower.

*11:48am-BFD responded to a grass fire on CR 338. Firefighters assisted Early FD with a 6 acre grass fire.

*9:19pm- BFD was called to a motor vehicle accident in the 1800 block of 4th St. The occupant of the vehicle, while in reverse, drove into another car and a house.  There were no injuries.

Saturday, October 30

*2:05pm- BFD responded to a vehicle accident in the 200 block of W. Commerce.  There were no injuries.

*5:36pm- BFD was called to a brush fire on S Hwy 377 where firefighters control small grass fire.

*6:14pm- BFD responded to a report of a brush fire in the 4000 block of CR 257.  Firefighters controlled a 4 acre grass fire.
